그럴때는 교체된 디스크나 구매된 디스크의 모양을 확인하셔야합니다
싱글 SATA가 있고 듀얼 SATA가 있습니다. 패스가 2개인 듀얼SATA를 사용해야한다는거죠

듀얼SATA는 커넥터 부분에 칩들이 많이 붙어 있습니다
싱글SATA는 커넥터 부분에 그냥 커넥터만 있습니다.

듀얼 패스 SATA는 하나씩 컨트롤러랑 연결되어 듀얼패스를 가집니다.
그런데 싱글 패스 SATA는 싱글 컨트롤러에서 사용해야겠죠.

홀수 슬롯에서는 1번이 PREFERRED CHANNEL 2번이 REDUNDANT CHANNEL
짝수 슬롯에서는 그반대로 겠죠.

Symptom

The user may encounter loss of Drive Path Redundancy messages in the Recovery Guru which could be caused by inserting an unsupported single-port SATA hard disk drive in the dual controller System Storage DS3000 subsystems.

Affected configurations

The system may be any of the following IBM servers:

• System Storage DS3200, type 1726, model 22X
• System Storage DS3300, type 1726, model 32X
• System Storage DS3400, type 1726, model 42X

Solution

Replace the single-port SATA hard drives with the supported dual-port hot-swap SATA hard drives. The list of currently supported SATA hard drives is located on the IBM System Storage DS3000 Interoperability Matrix at the following URL:

Additional information

There are multiple SATA hard drive options sold by IBM. By default, a SATA drive only has one port that connects to the device the user is inserting it in. In the case of the IBM System Storage DS3000 series dual controller subsystems, or any connected EXP3000 storage expansion enclosures, there are two controllers that need to communicate to these hard drives.

If the SATA drive is not a dual-port drive, it will not have a second port to communicate to the B controller on the dual controller System Storage DS3000 series storage subsystem.
